Contemplative Music

In REFUGE, the SANCTUARY trio takes you on a sonic journey that is lyrical, intense and mystical.

It is a voyage through fantasies on Gregorian Chant, soaring free improvisations, an intensely beautiful new work by Peter Togni called "Antiphon", rounded off with colouristic interpretations of jazz classics "Blue in Green" by Miles Davis, and Ed Heyman’s "When I Fall in Love".

The SANCTUARY trio is made up of the acclaimed broadcaster and composer Peter Togni on pipe organ, the internationally respected improviser Jeff Reilly on Bass Clarinet, and the master of lyricism Christoph Both on Cello.

Their music fuses the beautiful, melodic simplicity of ancient Gregorian Chant Plainsong with the new sounds of exploratory jazz and classical contemporary music.

Released on the international recording label Haenssler Classics, Sanctuary’s REFUGE promises a 21st century sound in a 10th century universe for music lovers the world over.
