Pianist Pascal Gallet joins Latitude 45
Latitude 45 is proud to announce that French pianist Pascal Gallet has joined the agency’s artist roster, assuring him exclusive international representation as of June 2004.
A student of Pierre Sancan, Yvonne Loriod and Teresa Llacuna, Pascal Gallet achieved recognition in many international competions before embarking on a solo and chamber career that has taken him to such prestigious festivals and venues as the Gaveau, Moliere, Chatelet, Naples, Geneva, Kiev, Detmold, Kitzingen, among others, He has often collaborated with Francois-Rene Duchable and, young as he is, he was commissioned by Oliver Messaien for two of the latter’s Catalogues d’oiseaux. A contemporary music lover, he has helped to promote the works of Thierry Pecou, Henri Fourres, and Jork Widmann among others.

He has been involved in numerous highly acclaimed recording projects, notably an album of the works of Joaquin Turina that was compared by music press to that of the young Alicia de Larrocha, and was selected to be part of the canon of works by today’s finest French pianists as compiled by the Maguelone label. Several new projects are in the works with the label, including the three-volume compilation of Andre Jolivetès works for piano. The first volume of the compilation is already out, and has been awarded four stars by the Monde de la Musique, as well as Pianiste magazine’s MAESTRO award. The next two volumes of the compilation will be released in 2005, denoting a century since the composer’s birth.
Pascal Gallet teaches at the Conservatoire de Montreuil, and, since 2001, he has been artistic director of the Piano a Forftimigny festival.
