About Richard Raymond
Lauréat de nombreux concours internationaux, dont Vianna da Motta, William Kapell, Montréal et Van Cliburn, le pianiste Richard Raymond a également été récompensé au Canada par le Prix Virginia Parker et plusieurs premiers prix prestigieux. Formé auprès de maîtres renommés comme Leon Fleisher et Marc Durand, il détient deux Premier Prix du Conservatoire de musique de Montréal ainsi que des diplômes d’interprétation de l’Université de Montréal, du Royal Conservatory of Music de Toronto et du Peabody Conservatory. Soliste applaudi au Canada et à l’international, il s’illustre dans un large répertoire, avec une prédilection pour les romantiques et les compositeurs canadiens. Pédagogue recherché, il enseigne au Conservatoire de Montréal, où il a formé plusieurs pianistes primés, dont Bruce Liu, lauréat du Concours Chopin à Varsovie.
Canadian pianist Richard Raymond is a laureate of major international competitions including Vianna da Motta, William Kapell, Van Cliburn, and the Montreal International Piano Competition. He has received numerous national awards, such as the CBC Young Performers First Prize and the Canada Council’s Virginia Parker Prize. Celebrated for his expressive performances, Raymond has appeared with leading orchestras across Canada and internationally in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His discography highlights works by Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Canadian composers. A respected pedagogue, he teaches at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where his students have earned international acclaim, including Bruce Liu, winner of the 2021 Chopin Competition.
