About Arthur Anold
Dutch-born conductor Arthur Arnold leads captivating performances with prominent symphony orchestras around the world. Arnold was the Music Director of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra from January 2012 to his resignation in March 2022, in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Artistic cooperation with the MSO started in 2004 with two concerts in the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam and developed into a long and fruitful collaboration. With unstoppable energy and a conviction that music deeply connects, Arnold inspires musicians to perform with heart and passion.
On the international stage, Maestro Arnold has worked with orchestras in Europe, North America, and Asia, and appeared at international festivals. Maestro Arnold is cofounder and Artistic Director of the Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy (PRISMA) Festival on Canada’s west coast.
Recent engagements included concerts with the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, Poland, the Spokane Symphony Orchestra in the USA, a three-week concert tour through China with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, a new opera production with Pacific Opera Victoria and recordings for the Canadian Broadcast Company with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
Arthur Arnold, d’origine néerlandaise, dirige dans le monde entier les concerts captivants d’orchestres de premier plan. Arnold fut le directeur musical de l’Orchestre symphonique de Moscou de Janvier 2012 à sa démission en Mars 2022, en réponse à l'invasion russe de l'Ukraine. Doté d’une énergie irrésistible et convaincu que la musique constitue un lien profond entre les êtres, Arnold insuffle aux musiciens de partout des interprétations remplies de cœur et de passion.
Sur la scène internationale, le maestro Arnold a travaillé avec des orchestres d’Europe, d’Amérique du Nord, d’Asie, et a participé à des festivals internationaux. Maestro Arnold est le directeur artistique du Festival PRISMA (Académie d’été Internationale de musique de la région du Pacifique) sur la côte ouest-canadienne.
Arnold a étudié la direction d’orchestre avec Anton Kersjes et Hans Vonk qu’il a accompagné comme chef assistant pendant plusieurs années.
