Since the release of his album Rich State of Mind, Rémi Cormier’s solo project has enjoyed remarkable reach. Having become a Lotus artist, he has taken his music around the international stage: first in Germany (in Bremen for Jazzahead!), then in Senegal at the Stereo Africa Festival and the Saint-Louis International Jazz Festival. Rémi Cormier will soon be showcasing to present his latest opus. Anchored in the history of jazz and resolutely forward-looking, his music reinvents the genre with audacity. It is precisely this capacity for renewal that won over Simon Beaulieu, General and Artistic Director of Théâtre du Marais:« What made me want to champion Rémi Cormier's project is how he creates a dialogue between heritage and the present. His music doesn't simply try to adopt the codes of jazz: it puts them back into play, moves them, and updates them.
