"An amplifier of voices, a powerful generator of light and darkness, the breathless 80-minute journey to the heart of a true Canadian tragedy stunned, unblinkingly spotlit, sensitively shared." – Opera Going Toronto

We are so grateful for the thoughtful words from Opera Going Toronto about the concert presentation of Brian Current and Marie Clements’ Missing at Koerner Hall on July 24th. The performance was described as "gripping, emotional, and beautifully sung," with special mention of the stellar cast and Continuum Ensemble’s evocative playing under Tim Long’s direction.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this moving evening of music and storytelling.

MISSING is a powerful opera confronting the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. With music composed by Brian Current and a libretto by Marie Clements, it follows Ava, a young woman whose encounter with the spirit of a lost Indigenous girl changes her forever. The Artists of The Opera MISSING ATOM) and Continuum Ensemble, led by conductor Timothy Long, weave contemporary classical music with Gitsan language and cultural traditions, moving through grief, memory, and justice, ensuring these voices continue to be heard.
