Quebec composer Simon Bertrand recently joined the Latitude 45 family. We are proud to be working with this local composer that has a international reputation. Indeed, Simon composed for musicians all over the world such as the Musica Nipponia Ensemble (Japan), the Danish Saxophone Quartet (Denmark), the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (Canada), the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra (China), the Gwandju Symphony Orchestra (Korea), and the Orchestre National d'île-de-France (France).
Simon recently announced his collaboration with American poet Paul Auster to write a cycle of works inspired by his poetry. Supported by grants from the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec and the New York State Council on the Arts, Bertrand will write the work to be premiered by Montreal's Nouvel Ensemble Moderne (NEM) in upcoming seasons.

Le compositeur québécois, Simon Bertrand s'est récément joint à la famille de Latitude 45. Nous sommes fier de travailler avec un compositeur local à la réputation internationale. En effet, Simon a composé pour des musiciens sur différents continents tels que l'ensemble Musica Nipponia Ensemble (Japon), le Danish Saxophone Quartet (Danemark), l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (Canada), le Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra (Chine), le Gwandju Symphony Orchestra (Korée) et l'Orchestre National d'île-de-France (France).
Simon a récemment annoncé une collaboration avec le poète américain Paul Auster pour la mise en musique de ses poèmes. Simon a reçu une bourse du Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec et du New York State Council on the Arts, pour l'écriture de l'oeuvre qui sera jouée par le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne (NEM) à leur prochaine saison.
